Perdita is a moon of Uranus, found approximately 76,400 km away from the planet, with a radius of 15 km. It orbits between the 2 moons Belinda and Puck.

Perdita was first spotted by Voyager 2 in 1986, but it went unnoticed until 1999, when Erich Karkoschka found it. There was no proof of its existence besides that photo, so it was demoted. However, in 2003, the Hubble Space Telescope saw Perdita, and it was later reinstated as an official moon of Uranus.

Name EtymologyEdit

It was named after a character in William Shakespeare's play "The Winter's Tale".
