Nix is a Moon of the planet Pluto.

  • It was discovered in 2005 by the Hubble Space Telescope.
  • It was named after the Greek goddess of darkness and night, and was the mother of Charon in mythology.
  • It is most likely smaller than Hydra, because it is fainter in the sky, but its exact size is unknown.
  • Nix will be visited in 2015 by the New Horizons spacecraft, along with the rest of the Pluto system.
