Desdemona was discovered by Voyager 2 on January 13, 1986, along with nine other uranian moons.
- Desdemona is named after the wife of Othello in William Shakespeare's play, "Othello, the Moor of Venice."
- It may collide with Juliet or Cressida, other moons of Uranus, in 100 million years.
- It's radius is 32 km across.
